Friends of Gomersal

Hello and welcome to Friends of Gomersal Primary School (FOG). We are a group of parents  who, instead of taking the easy option of relaxing in our free time, help to raise money for our children's school. We keep our events varied and entertaining for the whole family throughout the year. Our favourites are the Winter fayre in December with mulled wine and mince pies galore, themed summer fun days with lots of bouncy castle fun (and that’s just for the adults) and food and drinks on free flow. We hold a magic show at least once a year which is a favourite for the kids and as if that wasn’t enough to keep you all occupied we also support events run at school such as the book fair and Christmas carol singing. Phew!

We raise a staggering £4000 per year and this money goes towards new equipment, computers, book bags for all children. We have been able to subsidise a school trip for each child and pay for a puppet show to entertain the school. So you can see how valuable this is.

We meet approximately once a month, sometimes during the day. We also often meet in a more social setting in the evening where we get lots of essential work done, honest! We are always looking for new members to join FOG and you can contribute as little or as much time as you wish. FOG is a great way to meet new people and a chance to bring new ideas for fundraising.

We send out newsletters on a regular basis to keep you up to date with what’s happening and let you know when our next meeting is.
