Bonjour tout le monde!
Tomorrow [14th July] it is Bastille day, which is the French national festival celebrating French independence! It is the most important day in the French calendar!
I know you don’t learn French in Year 2, but thought you might fancy celebrating!
Watch the video to find out more….
If you fancy, do some of these activities to celebrate:

WELCOME TO YEAR 3 (nearly)
To get ready for year 3 we would like you to complete some work for us so we can get to know you. Please can you:
Then take a picture and send us it, or email it if you can, or keep it for September so we can see!

Reading recommendation: https://www.theickabog.com/home/
Some of the children in school have started reading The Ickabog by J.K.Rowling (we're on chapter 15 so far). We're really enjoying reading it and can't wait for the next chapter. Why don't you start reading it at home? You could even take part in the illustration competition on the website. We'd love to hear about your favourite parts or see some of your illustrations if you'd like to email them to us.
Another update from Eva and her brother Charlie:
On the final day of their steps challenge Charlie & Eva not only completed the challenge but they both went over 500,000 which is fantastic, they walked just over 300 miles each which is 9.67 miles per day!
Charlie – 536,178
Eva – 514,177

We're all so proud of them both!
