Mrs O'Keefe can't quite believe how much we have done over the year? Here are some of the things we have been up to!!
Autumn Term
We started the Autumn term by becoming part of the first KS1 Twinning project in Kirklees. Our twinning was with Purlwell Nursery and Infant School. We met our new friends at a fun day at the Alhikmar centre. Then each week we met up at our schools and did lots of fun activities. These included: collage based on Asian art, Landscape work working with Gomersal artist Stephen Barlow. We also visited a church and a mosque to compare the two places of worship, and the job of the leaders. We loved our dance and drumming sessions when we worked with Graham and Becky. We visited Purlwell during their Eid celebration and they visited us for a Christmas party.

We all loved making new friends (including the grown ups!) and finding out about one another’s cultures.

The Autumn term also saw our visit to Oakwell Hall where we found out about the lives of rich and poor Tudors.

We spent the day as servants in Master and Mistress Batt’s house. We worked very hard making Gods eyes to keep the rich people safe, sewing herb bags for Mistress Batt’s clothes and practising our writing with quill pens! We loved our Tudor dinner and our clothes, but we prefer the life we have to that of the Tudor servants!
